 Since the opening of the High Point Theatre facility in 1975, Theatre Art Galleries has been High Point's sole provider of the visual arts. High Point Theatre--itself a wing of the International Home Furniture Center - offers a wide range of performing arts throughout the year that complement TAG's proud history of visual art exhibits. This powerful combination makes the facility one of the region's premier destinations for visual and performing arts.In 1990, the High Point Area Arts Council was unable to fund its "Visual Arts Program" due to budgetary constraints. A dedicated group of concerned citizens came together to support and revitalize Theatre Art Galleries. In 1992, Theatre Art Galleries (TAG) was incorporated as a separate 501 (c) (3) non-profit organization. TAG is now in its15th year of independent operation and is not affiliated with the High Point Area Arts Council. |
